Chapter Philanthropy

Zeta Tau Alpha’s national philanthropy is breast cancer education and awareness, and Rachel is the Kappa chapter’s Philanthropy Chair. She has loved being involved in service work throughout the years and is honored to lead Zeta in supporting out great philanthropy. Rachel has witnessed the positive impact that breast cancer education and awareness can have and is excited to set and reach for higher goals this year in raising money for our chapter.

During the month of October, you can find ZTA’s passing out Pink Ribbons in the West Mall to everyone who walks by. We have also partnered with the athletic department to host “pink out” basketball games, where more ribbons are passed out, donations are collected, and we’re able to have lots of great bonding time with our sisters. We not only go to support our philanthropy, but of course to give lots of love to our Longhorns. During March, we host a “Backyard Bash” Barbeque in the house backyard and sell tickets to have an awesome time with our friends.

Our biggest fundraiser yet, however, started two years ago called “The Z Factor”. It’s a school wide talent show where students are able to show off anything under the sun: from singing, to dancing, to a contortionist, the Z Factor is an absolute blast. Last year, we were able to raise $37,000 off of this event alone, and are looking forward to meeting and hopefully exceeding our goal of $50,000 this year.
